About Us
Welcome to Japanesefleamarket.com.
We literally hand pick the listed items from flea markets throughout
Japan. Many of the items come from treasuries known as "Kura" in Japan.
"Kura" is a cellar type of structure used to keep generations
family valuables. Many countryside homes throughout Japan still have
a "kura" on their property. Unfortunately over the years these "Kura"
have become destroyed due to convenience and modernization. When ever
a family has to dispose of their "Kura" many of the higher quality items
go to museums and auctions. However the lesser valued pieces due to
mass production or lesser quality, become available to the public through
flea markets.
Long story short, I believe the saying goes, "another man's junk is
another man's treasure. Please be assured we only inventory, authentic
Japanese pieces!!!
Thank you for your patronage.
PS.
We also take requests. We can try to assist your search for certain
items.
